I recently received a call from Shapiro Shaik and Associates, who are Debt collectors advising that I am in arrears for an cellphone contract taken with MTN . I have not been an MTN customer, ever. I was told that I was ITC listed (Without ever been contacted until this point). The next step was to go to the SAPS, get a signed copy of my ID certified, get an affidavit from the SAPS stating that I have not taken any cellphone account with MTN, and submit this to the MTN Helpdesk. This was 2-3 Weeks back.

I called MTN today, and they advised that the Account in question was closed as definite ID was confirmed, but they are not willing to release the contract papers to me until I log a case of to the SAPS. Until then it would take 30 days to have the Credit Listing cleared.

I was not informed or kept updated to the above process. Once! That is pathetic service, of which I can say I've never experienced with my life long Service Provider Vodacom, ONCE!

Why is MTN afraid of sending me the signed contract. Are you afraid that weaknesses in your own processes will be exposed?

I AM PROUD NEVER TO HAVE BEEN AN MTN CLIENT!!!
