Ripped off by MTN Business Division

Telecommunications

I ordered two Blackberry 9320 phones telephonically from MTN Business in response to an advert in Seventeen magazine during October 2013 that offered the phones for R109.00 per month each with R100 airtime including BIS. When I received my first statement I noticed that I was being charged a "promo fee" of R61.54 plus vat. I immediately contacted MTN Business via e-mail requesting that I be charged the R109.00 per phone that I contracted for. This amount was confirmed by the operator who took my order and who informed me that the conversation was being recorded. Since then I have sent numerous e-mails and made countless phone calls only to be shunted from one person to another. I finally managed to get hold of a credit controller, Arthur Khambu who asked me to forward all my previous correspondence to him. I did this and included the Seventeen magazine advert. He wrote back on 21/01/13 to say that he had escalated the matter to the relevant department. On 28/01/13 I received an e-mail from Keabetso Monageng, corporate Administrator, Business Channels informing me that I was subscribed to two MTN 100 Top Up promo packages and therefore have to pay a "promo" fee.
