DATA BUNDLES LOST!!!

I migrated my contract from Contract to prepaid on the 30/11/13. I have been a very satisfied customer with Vodacom for years and considered them the best amongst their competitors but now I am not so sure, When i put notice to cancel my contract no one advised me that I should load any data or airtime closer to the time as I will loose it, so i week before the migration happened I bought 1g data bundles for R149 not knowing that I will loose my data, so now you are billing me for this data that i didnt use? why not charge me the amount of data I used before the migration or restore my data bundles as I believe I shouldnt be paying for something I didnt use when your consultants failed to advise me accordingly
