The week before, my ADSL line went down, with the result my business came to a grinding halt. The following week, my business land line was out of order. Our customers heard an unanswered phone ringing endlessly, as if we had shut down for Christmas, already.

On both occasions I was advised by Telkom that the fault would be attended to within 24 to 48 hours. I explained the urgency of the situation and requested the Report to be escalated and the fault to be resolved immediately. I was advised that the urgency would be noted and submitted to the Supervisor. At that point, I asked to speak to the Manager.

I was fortunately connected to Mark Petersen, Ops Specialist dealing with escalations. Mark, understanding the urgency and consequences of the situation, arranged for a Technician to be dispatched to our premises within the hour on both occasions, which is extraordinary. He deserves the highest level of commendation and acknowledgement from Telkom Management. I am most grateful to Mark for his prompt intervention.

The respective Technicians, Musa Machete and Bobo Letwaba, were courteous, efficient and highly competent and also deserve acknowledgement.
