I have a Nashua Mobile/Vodacom data bundle contract for R99 per month. When I initiated this contract I was offered a service in which I could determine the limit of my monthly bill. Consequently, I requested a maximum limit amount of R10 to be put onto this contract, with the understanding that my account will never be more than R109 per month. I thus created a self-imposed credit limit on this account, which Nashua Mobile has to honour. I did this purposely to protect myself against an overbill scenario.

To my horror, when I received my monthly account from Nashua Mobile on the 28th of October 2013, I discovered that services to the value of R7, 399.69 have been rendered. On closer inspection of the bill I also noticed that on the day that I received the SMSes, my account already reached an accumulative value of R6, 006.76 (2013/10/15 @ 15:49:24). When I contacted my local Nashua Mobile branch I was told that "Call/Data Limit is not guaranteed from a technical point of view". This particular statement was never explained to me at the initiation of the contract and this particular service should NEVER have been offered if it could not be effectively applied.
