Unethical, Unreasonable and Poor Customer Service

I am an mtn customer for nearly 11 years; I upgraded my contract less than 6 months ago and received a newly released Nokia Lumia 900 handset as part of the contract deal. The handset recently developed a fault and was handed in to the store for repairs. The handset could not be repaired and needed to be replaced at Mtn's cost; however the store does not have stock as the handset has been discontinued.
They are not willing to replace with a handset offered at a similar contract price - must pay an additional R1800 amount for this handset which is being offered for free on the same contract at R20 per month extra (I am willing to pay this R20/month extra )- unreasonable.
They are willing to replace with handsets currently offered free on much lower contract prices and still expect me to pay the original contract price which is R150 per month extra- unethical.
I have tried taking this up with the store (Mark, Sandhani) customer sales (Devendree); head office; etc however being referred in circles as each one is passing the buck, it is going on 4 weeks without resolution that I am without a handset - poor customer service.
