I upgraded at MTN on the 30th June 2013 to a Samsung Note 2. I had about R700 airtime that was suppose to be carried over. There was some problems with the initial upgrade which the salesman indicated he would try and solve. After 2 months and many visits I was informed that I had actually scored as I was placed on the wrong package (Blackberry) and MTN would forfeit the loss. I indicated that there was no loss for MTN only me. But because I am aware of the bad service in the cell phone industry I left it at that. Imagine my surprise yesterday when I discovered that I had no airtime left eventhough I seldom use my phone. On further research I was informed by the MTN helpline that there is something "wrong" with my account. Today I found out that I have never received any airtime not withstanding the fact that I dilligently pay my account every month. Surely this is? All I received was my "free" data bundle" of 200MB, 30 MTN-MTN minutes and "free smses".
This is bad as the salesman at another branch told me this regularly happens. Shame on you MTN. Are you going to fix this? And if yes, when?
