Walked into the Vodashop in Kenilworth to do a SIM Swap yesterday.
Tyler assisted me and sent me on my way after my prompt payment of R63.
After an entire day of "SIM card registration failed" I succumbed to the frustration and called the 082111 and after an hour on the phone I eventually accepted the fact that Louisa could not complete the swap as "Contract SIM swaps cannot not be completed over the phone". Louisa referred me to the Vodashop.
Called the Vodashop spoke to Amina, who explained that when their "franchise store" processes a SIM swap, the paperwork is faxed off to the SIM swap department for completion and that it could take anything from 24 to 48 hours. This was confirmed by Tyler on my 2nd call to the Vodashop.
By comparissson, Vodacom is the most expensive network in South Africa. Where is the money going to that the time frame for a SIM swap has increased from 10 minutes 10years ago, to 48 hours today? Why has Vodacom's instore applications reverted back to the stone ages? A new contract plan is captured and activated in less than half the time. 2 "BUSINESS" days is unacceptable and compensation is required.
