To whom it may concern
When did Vodacom transform from a being service provider to become a cellphone retailer?
I am currently due for an upgrade of my contract which gives me the opportunity to review my contract and adjust to my needs and also compare all service providers. When I decided I only wanted a new structured contract without taking a new phone I was told the call centre cannot help me and I should rather try a local branch. What Vodacom is telling me is they only want to make money off the phones and the contract is of less importance. Why can we not just structure our own package like MTN has introduced where you only pay for what you want rather than trying to find a contract which only partly fulfils your needs? If you don't need a phone you can just pay for the data and call minutes. At the same time Vodacom has discontinued the Iphone 5 16GB before the 5s is available.
