I have 4 Cell C prepaid accounts, one each for my wife and I and one each for two of my children. I decided to upgrade my and my wife's accounts to contracts so I called the Cell C and did just that. I received the first phone and SIM card (the second one still hasn't arrived) 2 days later. When I called the call centre to activate the account, they told me that when I activate the account that I will loose all of my airtime on the prepaid accounts. I then discovered that Cell C had not upgraded my prepaid accounts at all, they had simply signed me up for 2 new contracts with new numbers and given me the option of changing the new numbers to our old prepaid numbers and that if I did this, I would loose all of my airtime, R125 in my wife's phone and R460 in mine. I then requested that Cell C transfer the airtime to my children's prepaid contacts but was told that wasn't possible and that I must just use the airtime or loose it. I spoke to a call centre supervisor who said that his superior would call me back... I am still waiting! I was not informed that I would loose the airtime when I signed up for the contracts, had I been told this I would not have done it.
