My contract is over 2 years old, I have not upgraded as yet. So what does MTN do for my loyalty, with ZERO notification they increase my subs from R179 to R238, 33% increase - Nice one.

So I call at their flagship service centre in Cape Road PE to try find out what's going on. There is no one on the floor just a few consultants haphazardly dotted around. I accept my fate and just hover around waiting my turn. Another client comes in and then a another, both have clearly been here before because they are street wise. Both dart onto a seat the instant a consultant finishes, not a word from the consultants who have clearly seen me waiting. Ok so I go to the admin side (another entrance) and ask the procedure. Oh they advise you should have had a ticket, not sure if these tickets drop from the sky because there is NO consultant on the floor and my streetwise friends most certainly did NOT have a ticket.

So the behaviour of a 33% increase without so much of an SMS and then this service from the flagship service centre?

Goodbye MTN.
