On the 12/09/2013 I booked my blackberry 9300 into Mtn Pavilion store for repairs. This is a prepaid cell, purchased from Truworths, on 08/01/2012. Attached to necessary booking documents, was copy of Truworths purchase receipt and warranty receipt, which clearly states the dates, for the 24 month warranty, this was attached by the Mtn consultant to the booking inn form.

However after a 2 week I was informed that this cell is no longer under warranty, as this refurbished cell from a previous claim repair (issued by Mtn) to me is older than my original cell. Mtn required a payment of about R1500 to have this cell repaired. The problem is I was issued with this out of warranty cell, with different a IMEI number from original cell that was purchased.

Documents legally binds clients when booking inn cell phones for repairs, that they are not guaranteed to receive the same cell back as the cell booked inn. As a result service providers (Mtn) can issue clients with any cell, resulting in an inconvenience as this.
