Vodacom
Vodacom violates my consumer rights

Telecommunications

I have taken a cellphone contract with Vodacom 3 days ago. I changed my mind and wanted to return the phone, stay on the same package just get an easier phone to use. I go to the store and firstly the consultants were unhelpful. I explained my story and they tell me its not possible. I explain the consumer protection act and that I have a 7 say period to return the phone. It seems like they never heard of the law. I explain that the call centre said it would be possible to exchange phones but they refused. Apparently when I signed the contract I signed away my consumer rights, and then they show me the warranty I signed. What does the warranty have to do with anything. The phone is not damaged. After much arguing eventually they decided to take my phone in for an "assessment" and will let me know. I had the phone for three days, I don't want it repaired, I want to give it back. I now want to just cancel the contract but apparently I have to pay a cancellation fee, it is within 7 days, according to the law I do not have to pay anything. i gave the phone back I want my contract ended. Vodacom are no better than. They the system for profit, do not care about our rights
