MTN cold calling

Today I received 3 calls from a number I did not recognise, and to which I was unable to call back. On the 3rd call I was able to answer, and was speaking to an MTN consultant. I immediately said I was not interested in whatever they had to offer.

My major complaint comes in terms of them cold calling me. I have no products with MTN, and never have. So firstly, where did they get my cellphone number from? and why are they soliciting me?

This is highly unprofessional, and this amounts to unwanted solicitation. If I wanted an MTN product, I would have approached MTN directly myself. I want to know where my personal details were obtained, and who gave them the right to contact me directly.
