No interest in cold calling turns into Spam

I received a cold call from Yello Mobile. When I said that I was not interested and asked to be removed from their marketing list, I promptly received an sms from Yello Mobile thanking me for my interest and ensuring me that they will keep me up to date of all future promotions etc.

I called the contact number in the sms (0861 375 223) to ask again to be removed from their marketing lists and was told that there was no-one who could assist me, they were unable to allow me to speak to a manager and they were unable to give me the number of anyone that could assist me.

Unsolicited cold calls are an infringement of POPPI and I find the company incredibley unprofessional in the marketing, call centre operations and handling of this issue. I see in a previous complaint from a customer for the same thing on Hello Peter, the respondent displayed the complainants cell phone number for all to see.

I would definately not do business with them based on this experience and the displaying of compainants cell phone numbers on this site and I am surprised that MTN have aligned themselves with a company that does business in this way.
