Ive been a MTN subscriber at least 10 years, and mostly been happy (except when I got seriously ripped off by roaming charges by their own company in Nigeria, but I didnt press the issue at the time). Now, early last week I tried to register for MTN active on the website, but failed. MTN simply will not deliver the password mail to register it. I phoned the helpdesk (itself a nightmare of byzantine menu options designed to alienate the caller). I was informed that it was a 'problem on their side' and was given num bers: call ref: 104601524, and two query nos. 2723832 and 2723899. someone would call me back, they said. I havent heard from anybody since. And I cant email directly because they seem to keep their staff''s email addresses very well hidden unless you are an investor. I have come here to complain in the hope that it will attract the attention of somebody at MTN who is able to set up my registration so I can do abit of self-service instead of phoning call centre for, say, a data topup. This service support really, it simply shouldnt take this amount of effort. When current contract's up, I'm probably going to port my number elsewhere.
