Give 2 days to pay and cut off same day

My wife forgot to pay my account. I received an sms and call yesterday giving me 2 days to pay. Last night my services was suspended. We paid some of the money this morning asking them to reinstate we will pay the rest tonight. So how can you give us 2 days to pay and cut it off the same day. My wife is with another cellphone company and they reinstated her phone immediately, We phoned the and was told that the phone cant be reinstated until amount is paid in full. I never missed a payment.
