I have been trying to get through to the Telkom call centre for 3 days now. Waiting periods on the line vary between 10 and 20 minutes a time. When I finally did get through to a lady operator I explained my problem: I need to switch my ADSL to a new address that does not currently have an ADSL line installed. My enquiry was to try and work out the cost associated with installing the new line. The operator treated me like I was stupid and then when I requested to speak to her manager/supervisor she put the phone down on me. I then had to wait another 20 minutes on the line again to speak to another operator who told me I needed to dial another extension. I feel that just because Telkom has the monopoly on landline adsl does not give them the right to treat consumers badly. I likened the experience to dealing with a grumpy government employee. I wish there was another service provider that I could switch to however this is not the case. I feel like cancelling my line out of spite but know this will hurt me more than them. Don't knoow the answer here.
