My wife and I went into MTN SP Morningside early on Saturday morning. My wife to renew her contract and me to switch my contract from Vodacom Autopage to MTN SP.

Nathi (Nkosinathi) assisted us and was very professional and friendly. However, due to a failed credit check he could not process my application in store and said that it would require supervisor approval.

I followed up with Nathi later on Saturday and again today (Monday) but still there is no communication from his supervisor even though he assured me that because I was porting, MTN was very keen on winning me as a customer.

I have checked with Transunion and the bad credit check is due to an old Standard Bank garage card where I apparently owe R478. This account was closed in November 2011 and I have confirmed with Standard Bank that this was an error and they are in the process of resolving it.

My problem is that if a supervisor would actually look at my credit record they would be able to approve my application, but there are no supervisors available on a Saturday or even a Monday???

I understand the need to prevent, but access to a supervisor when required will really prevent customer frustrations.
