Unrepaired cell phone returned to consume

Telecommunications

On 8 August 2013 I handed my Blackberry 9300 handset in for repairs due to a disfunctional track pad. The phone was unable to be used in any way but still under guarantee. It was handed in at the Cresta Mall outlet of Altech Autopage. The staff there was very nice to me and told me it would take 4-6 weeks before I can get my device back. This was still acceptable. I realised that all repairs had to be sent to their head office in Midrand. On Friday 6 Sept 2013 I received a phone call from the same outlet, informing me that my device is ready. After driving 7, 5 km to the Cresta Mall outlet, I only found my phone to be in the same condition as I had handed it in. I was assured that it had been sent away and that many devices had been returned to that outlet unrepaired in the past. I resent this sort of service where it seems that no quality control is applied as I have been a customer of Altech Autopage for about 10 years. In the meantime I have been paying for BIS which I did not have access to as I was using an old Nokia phone while waiting for mine to be repaired. My Blackberry was once again left at the store to be sent away for repairs. Phone no: 0823262684. Job no: R362542
