MTN drags feet in cellphone contract probe

MTN sent me an Sms stating I am owing money on my cell phone account and they were sending my name to the credit bureau. This came as a complete surprise to me as I have never opened a cell phone account in my life. I contacted MTN who requested an affidavit stating I did not open said account, along with a copy of my ID.
I have faxed both documents more than 3 times to MTN, who claim never to have received it. What is MTN scared of? My only conclusion is that they might find their own staff implicated in the. Why cant MTN answer what documents were used to open the account, and how the sim card was RICAed? They cant even give me the cell phone number to query it.
