I recently changed over to 8ta as they offer in a std contract, a nominated Telkom landline no. you can call for 1 year for free, I could not pass up on this. Having this no. removed from my normal billing charges, meant I could reduce my contract to a Smart Call 250. On signing I was asked for and gave my nominated number to Bianca at the Northgate Branch. When I collected my phone on the 02.07.2013, I was told that the no. was activated. When I received my first bill, the nominated no. had not been activated and used up all my free minutes and then I was charged for calling that no. When I logged the error, I was told that the no. was only activated on the 12.08.2013. How do you sell a std contract and then take 1.5months to activate a number? I should have had access to that no. from day 1. Needless to say the matter has not been resolved. 8ta owe we 212minutes from July and over R200 in calls charged. To add fuel to the fire, I have also been charged for every call to a landlines that are not telkom lines, even before my minutes ran out, and when I wanted to complain, Benedict from 8ta CPT, simply told me, if I have a complaint, go log it on Hello Peter... say no more!
