I opened a 2gig data contract with Vodacom in April after checking the network coverage at our new flat. After going home to test the connection, I only had very poor edge (if lucky) signal. I went back to the store where I opened the contract, to cancel the contract and was told that they can't do it and I must log a call with technical. Phoned technical and was told that I must spend -R1500 on a special antennae to boost the signal or wait until July because they have a project planned in our area to boost the signal. So I wait until July and phone technical, only to get told that there is no longer a project planned. All this time, I've been paying for a promised service, that I was not receiving. Eventually I was told last month that I can cancel my contract "free of charge" because of the network issue. This is great but what about the other 5 months I have been paying for this service and not receiving it. Call centres are useless, I bounce around from accounts to cancellations and back to accounts. I feel like I should be refunded for the period I paid for and the lack of service. Hopefully this will get the right person from Vodacom to contact me.
