I completed an online application for an ADSL line & data package from MWEB & submitted my ID & proof of address online (14th August). I hadn't heard anything by the 16th so I called to follow-up. The operator was furiously typing while talking to me & the notification SMS's come through while on the line - in other words they hadn't even attended to my application yet. Anyway, I get notification that the product is active on the 22nd but I only receive my username & password on the 23rd after several email requests from me. I plug the phone line into my router only to get a flashing DSL light. Several days of unsuccessfully trying everything to set-up the router I go to log a line fault with Telkom only to discover that my phone line is dead. After a trip to the mall to a Telkom store to log the fault I now have to wait 48-72 hours for them to fix it. Worse is that MWEB have the audacity to charge me R911.63 for a R689 per month product that I don't even have yet thanks to their botched application for line conversion! By the time Telkom fix the line fault it will be month end 30th/31st & I'm expected to pay for pro-rata service that I haven't even yet! Totally off-sides MWEB!
