UNLAWFUL BEHAVIOUR

I took out a Virgin Mobile contract a few years ago. It was one of my first cell phone contracts. I ended up paying my last instalment when my contract ended a few years later, not knowing that cell phone companies charge you in arrears and that even though my contract ended, I still had to pay another two months instalments. I refused to pay these two months as at the time, I did not understand why I was charged in arrears. When a consultant was finally able to explain the process to me, I paid the balance. My credit report clearly shows that my Virgin Mobile account was paid up in 2012.
Now, more than a year later, I start receiving smses from a law firm saying I have been handed over for R175 for an overdue account. I explained everything to them and asked them to call me back once they have confirmed with Virgin Mobile that I have paid my account. I heard nothing from them. I even sent the attorneys my credit report proving that this account was paid - and still heard nothing.
My bond application has just been rejected because of this "overdue" account. For one year I hear nothing from Virgin Mobile then get contacted by their attorneys! I am definitely taking this further!!
