I went to upgrade my Vodacom contract to the Blackberry Q10 cell phone and received really poor service and a defective phone. After spending hours on my landline to the Vodacom call centre, the technicians admitted they had not been trained on how to use the Blackberry Q10, were not able to resolve my issue and instead, promised me another replacement phone. They also told me (after the fact) that the Blackberry Q10 can incur very high data charges due to automatic data usage. Had I been aware of all this beforehand, I would have reconsidered the upgrade entirely. Now, I am being given the silent treatment - Vodacom has not fulfilled its promise to me and I have been forced to revert to using my old phone. I am without the upgrade that I am paying dearly for. It seems to me that Vodacom can contract out of the law and hoodwink clients into accepting defective goods and services as well as exhorbitant hidden costs. I have been left feeling totally vulnerable, stressed out and my business has suffered while I have had to put things on hold to try sort this mess out to no avail!
