Networks DO NOT want to blacklist phone

Telecommunications

I have been trying to blacklist my phone for the past four months with no assistance from MTN, so in an effort to try and get this phone blacklisted I also contacted Vodacom, as I had used a Vodacom sim in the phone at some stage. They came back to me and explained that as the phone had been initiated on the MTN network and as I did not have the Vodacom number they were unable to assist me. They could however see that the phone had been used on the MTN network.

Late yesterday I received a notification form MTN saying "Good day kindly note the IMEI number on the blacklist application do not match our system please assist me with the cell number used at the time the HTC has been, regards, Alice Reference Number: 6876551" this despite the fact that I have had the same MTN number for the last 8 years and have used both my primary and secondary MTN sim in this device. Also attached letter confirming this and my and proof of purchases.

It would seem to me that the networks have no willingness to stop the of mobile phones as it is no in there interest.
