I entered into a cellphone contract with Nashua Mobile in Jan2012 for 24 months during which I was assisted by a guy by the name of Mpho. One of the things I emphasised on before entering into the contract was that he should explain what Nashua Mobile's repair policy was. He assured me that if at any time during the 24 months of the agreement the cellphone gives me a problem, I must take it to any of their branches where it would be repaired at no extra cost to me. Needless to say, true to blackberry phones, the phone started to freeze up and 3 of its buttons fell off. As informed by Mpho at the inception of the agreement, I then took the phone in and handed it to the same Mpho who told me it would take -4 weeks to repair, making no mention of any costs of repair.
I was therefore shocked to receive a call a few days later notifying me that I would need to pay R1400 for the repairs, which i naturally declined. When I referred the query to their complaints department, I was told about a repairs policy which had never before been brought to my attention. This has been very disappointing and my family and I will definitely not be renewing our exisitng agreements with NashuaMobile.
