Can't Match deals

I'm overdue for an upgrade so i decided to shop around and see what's available. My account is currently with MTN Direct and they have a blackberry deal that I was interested in. I found the same contract on MTN much cheaper at NashuaMobile & Autopage so I was instructed to call their 808 number and ask for retentions, which I did
I'm quiet busy so I didnt have time to take down the details of the gentleman helping, but on explaining that NashuaMobile was cheaper & giving a free travel charger he did some checking & advised me that although the deal was at R159 a month there was an additional fee of R59 a month for the BIS which would make it more expensive than their advertised R199 a month. So i said let me think about it
I then called NashuaMobile at The Pavilion and Pretty advised me that it was R159 a month including BIS & free charger
I went onto the Autopage site & found the same deal at R169 a month incl BIS

I then called MTN again and spoke to Araf in retentions who told me flat out that they can't change their deals.
My question is, being a MTN contract, you should be able to meet the price and 2. If this was so, why did your first staff beat around the bush?
