Sony doesnt have a waterproof phone

I went fishing this last weekend up in the drakensburg, its fly fishing so its a pretty clean sport and early mornings are best. I own an Xperia Z cell phone which is suppose to be water proof as per the claim of all the advertising etc.

My phone was in my jacket pocket which I agree got a little damp but not hecticly wet. After I got back to the cottage I dried the phone off and thought nothing of it. The next day my phone started giving problems until it eventually wouldn't even turn on.

I took the phone to MTN and they send it off for assessment. The answer was as they all always claim "water damage" I do agree that water got into the phone but how is beyond me as all covers were closed for the entire weekend.

Sony how do you even have the nerve to claim warranty void on a phone due to water damage when the phone is advertised as water proof?
