Telkom, my upgrade, my higher bill, BUT no data

On 11 July I phoned 10210 to upgrade my DSL from 1 Mbps to 4 to 10 Mbps, and increase the data cap from 10GB to 20GB. The operator confirmed my line supported 4 Mbps and an order execution period of 48 hours. After more than twice that time, I called again for a progress report on Ref. 81868363A. I received a new story that different departments were involved but they would do me a favour and escalate my order. I phoned a number of times again before receiving a SMS on 19 July, 8 days after the initial request, suggesting that the order was completed. When checking my DSL line I found it as slow as ever so I phoned again, probably close to 10 calls by then. I was then advised all the data had been used which I said was impossible. On 22 July I spent an hour on the phone in the morning being passed from pillar to post and listening to varying stories each time. I asked for proof of my usage and all I could get in response was that the system said the usage all came from my DSL line. I was told to phone back when at home, and ask for a modem refresh which would provide the missing data. That did not work so their default position returned that I used the data. I was robbed!
