POSSIBLE ATTORNEY HANDOVER due to bad service

CELL C blacklisted me in 2009/10 for non-payment of an account after they did not return my calls and mails. They stated that the money is written off to the credit bureau and it is off my credit record, BUT they handed me over to a credit agency to try to get me to pay them?
Surely having me blacklisted and reviewing the decision to write off the money sounds like charging double.
I received a phone from CELL C in November 2008 and in February 2009 informed them that I am stopping payment as they did not disclose all information regarding the contract. To make matters worse, they did NOT respond to my e-mails, which I have forwarded to the credit agency. I received 1 answer from them, where it stated the following:-
Please note that we are unable to verify whether you are on our system, in order for us to accurately reply to your query we would require that you provide us with your reference number and contact number for ease of reference. I provided their reference number 'Cell C Sp 153898985' and my phone number, but NEVER received a reply from them after that. It was 7th September 2009. I received a letter from the agency yesterday.
Can somebody please help me...
