PROBLEMS WITH VODACOM'S WARRANTEE REPAIRS

Telecommunications

I have (HAD) a Blackberry Curve which is on contract. After less than 6 months the phone kept freezing and then rebooting itsself. After numerous complaints to Tiekams Cellular in Queenstown, them updating the software, etc. they eventually sent the phone to Vodacom for assessment. After weeks of waiting Vodacom eventaully phoned me and told me that due to a factory fault with the phone, the motherboard had burnt out. However, they were unable to honour the warrantee due the phone having a small superficial crack on the one corner of the plastic cover. I find it hard to believe that Vodacom could use such a lame excuse not to honour a warrantee for a cellphone that was clearly faulty from the outset. I offered to purchase a new plastic cover to replace the one that had the small crack, but Vodacom refused. Job No. for the above is 8804955 and the phone was sent to Vodacom Repairs, East London. (THREE MONTHS AGO!!!) Is this acceptable.
