I recently took a contract with 8ta. The promotion says that the S4 is free with a Smartplan 100 for R449 per month. Imagine my disgust when 8ta deducted an extra R350 from my account. Cancelling it would not have been a problem if I received my statement but apparently my e-mail (which didn't change and I had received communication from 8ta on a previous contract) was captured incorrectly. Then I logged a call but get told that the agent would call back. That didn't happen so when I called back a case was logged and upon investigation I was told that a R350 device fee was charged for May. Only received the phone on 31 may. I was not told that I would be charged R350 extra. Then after several back and forth calls the sales person phones and tell me to come to the store as he would have to pay me from his pocket. Now I should feel bad for querying an unethical deduction! You guys - get your act together. Everyone else check your accounts as you could be charged for items you are not aware of. I checked my contract and I did not sign anything anywhere for an extra device fee...
