I just came from Vodacom retail store in Westgate, Roodepoort. I wanted to book in my Blackberry cell because the speaker is faulty. They said to me it can't be booked in, because the system is down, to which I reply that it must surely be possible to book it in by hand. They said it is not possible, because they can't be held responsible if the phone is. I asked if they don't have a safe at the back. Yes, they do have one, but can't put it in the safe.
Now just a few questions:
1. What do they do with the new phones - not their responsibility if it get?
2. Why must the responsibility to get the phone booked in on the customer. They gave me a landline number: 011 7680192 to call in able to verify if their system is working. They don't offer to contact me. Everything is my costs: my time, my petrol, my telephone! Not even a free cell number.
I must say, if I run my business like this, I would have been bankrupt by now. I have learnt one thing in life: what goes around, comes around. Watch out Vodacom!
