I took a contract with Telkom and requested my number to be ported from MTN who I have dealt with for 12 years and have had no problems. Telkom has taken2 months to port the number and did not know what the problem was. Finally after two months and a lot of inconvenience, the number has been ported and now I am required to pay the contract even though the number porting could not be done and despite me making it clear that I want the contract only If the number can be ported. What a ripoff and you can never contact any management of Telkom. I can only reach the call centres and I am unable to escalate this after 2 months because nobody at Telkom cares. I have patiently waited for the porting and don't expect to pay for a service I have not received. I have chatted to Neotel and they are looking into me moving all 7 of my ADSL business lines. My mum had service issues as well and has now gone to Neotel. Best service most competent phones and access to management if need be. They are so indifferent. This kind of complacency is exactly what clients tire of. Get your act together Telkom or you will lose clients to Neotel. I am one of those clients currently in talks with them!
