Firstly, I received no notice of my contract ending. My girlfriends contract just ended and Vodacom actively contacted her to help her through the process of getting a new contact. MTN have given no notice and have just increased my payment.

A contract comes with a phone, ie. part of the contract amount paysfor the phone. Therefore after 24 months, you have paid for the phone and are paying way more than you should for the airtime. Instead of a decrease or even just leaving the payment amount the same after 24months, MTN increased my account by almost 20%. Paying R368 for R100 airtime and BIS (R58 according to my account).

That means I'm paying more than double what I would have been paying on pre-paid! How can you increase an account without offering a deal which is clearly more beneficial to your customer. This is horrific service!

Furthermore, I've phoned 808 and was told the only way I can cancel is to send an email and it'll take 20 days. The other 2 times I phoned, you didn't have access to your own network. The latest development is that you have blocked my port from being forwarded to Nashua Mobile.!!!

Unacceptable!
