CELL PHONE CONTRACT FOR 2006/2007

HI.please help me in 2006 i apply for a cell phone contract with company called Excel communication.
And the contract was for 2years for Motorola V50 from 2006 till 2007 than i finish up my contract with them.from 2007 till 2013 yesterday one of the consultant call me claiming i owe them R5000.00 for cell phone contract
please i need help i really don't understand what this people their up to after six years why if i owe then they din't garnish or black list me... and my cell phone no never change at all am still using the some contact no.
please help i just want to find the truth about the whole this
