No-one wants to chnage/reverse a data bundle

I changed 250 talking points for a 250MB data bundle, thinking that I could send sms's with it that exceed the daily cost (i.e sms's of R1.50 or more). This is not the case. When I phoned Customer Care, an uninterested agent named Sonia said it's irreversible&nothing can be done. This is disgusting service from Vodacom. It takes ages to build up 250 talking points and now I am stuck with 250MB on my phone that I will never use (I have an old phone). It's a total loss for me! I have been with Vodacom for more than a decade, and find this totally unacceptable. Horrible service, Vodacom!!!
