Unpaid account after contract has been cancelled

I terminated my contract with MTN on the 22nd January 2013, whilst on the phone with a MTN retention consultant he assured me that the cost involved in cancelling the contract was R 5770.89 and once that was paid the contract would be cancelled and no further payment would be required, it was since terminated on the 23rd January 2013. On the 25th January 2013 a debited amount of R1, 324.35 was taken from my account in error and upon calling the MTN call center 808, the representatives admitted to a billing fault and promised to refund my money within 7 working days and return my phone call, which he failed to in both cases.
No debited amount was taken off in February but again in March of R 1, 256.99
I have made in excess of 50 calls to MTN 808 to try resolve this issue and once again numerous promises of a representative refunding the incorrectly debited amounts and return phone calls, failing to do so every time.
Finally had to resort to calling my bank, FNB to reverse this money and they managed to assist me.
I have now received a letter stating that if I do not pay this amount of R 1, 279.79 I will be reported to the credit bureau, for which money were incorrectly debited
