Stilling being debited for contract long ended

I had a laptop contract which I terminated before Dec 2012 and a cell phone contract which I terminated before April. My bank account has been debited monthly and even when I got the bank to stop and return the debit, they merely changed the amount and continued to debit. Repeated communication with the company has been fruitless because although they acknowledge that the contracts have been terminated, they continue to debit my bank account, further costing me because I must pay to have these debits unpaid.
