On 1 April I went to Makro Bedworth Park to upgrade my cellphone contract after receiving a prompt from Vodacom. I duly signed all Vodacom docs and received the new handset, hence, the upgrade was done, or so I thought! At the end of the month, upon receiving my bill, I was shocked as the data usage was billed at R1487, 02, whereas the package provided for 620mb free data and my previous package provided for BIS.I attended the local franchise which confirmed that the acceptance of the quotation was never communicated. I phoned Vodacom, they promised to revert after 12-24 hrs. After two follow ups, and several days later, I received a call saying they spoke to Makro and that Makro will contact me. Nothing happened. On 27 May I sent an e-mail and registered letter. Vodacom duly acknowledged receipt. The only response I received after several days was that my query had been closed. I am not sure when it was ever opened. I have been a customer of Vodacom for over 14 years. I did not contract with Makro. I noticed, despite informing Vodacom, they remained in default to activate the correct package and still the costs are escalating. I paid the other items on my bill. They were quick to pursue payment for full
