My husbands number on someone else's account?

I am so furious right now its nowhere near funny. My husband opened a new contract with Mtn on 1 March this year for the Blackberry Z10. In the process he had his cell number ported to Mtn as he wanted to keep his details the same. Everything went smoothly until about a month later, no debits went off his cell and his number was suspended. So he went into the store and was told he would need to pay a certain amount in cash to have his number activated again. He did so and then carried on, thinking they captured his bank details wrong. It turns out my husbands cell number was activated on another persons contract. Their surnames sound similar and they were both in store on the same day. We have been back and forth to Mtn about 7 times trying to sort this issue out and each time we are given false hope, paying 100's of rands in cash aswell. The most recent incident is that we have now found out that my husbands number is NO longer on the network? Seriously, this whole contract with Mtn has become such a pain. We went to Mtn on Tuesday to sort the problem out and was told his number would be reallocated to his correct name and activated within 24 hours. This has STILL not happened!
