Contract Terminated 24 hrs early to ensure unused

I requested cancellation of one of my numbers effective month end May 2013.
I confirmed with the Walk In Customer Centre in Port Elizabeth that I would have until midnight on the 31 May 2013 to utilize any unused minutes on the contract. There was in excess of R600 credit on the phone.

At midnight on the 30 May 2013, the contract was disconnected and on enquiry received the following inadequate response from Thomas:

kindly be advised on our cancellation system you can only enter the date and not a specific time for a number to be cancelled. The system starts to cancel numbers from 00:00 on that particular date, in your case the system started to cancel numbers from 00:00 of the 31st May 2013.

This is a whole day earlier than requested and I have been charged up to the end on May for the contract. R680-00 has been.

This is shocking customer service and although I am busy putting a complaint in under the CPA, i wish to highlight the levels of customer care that Vodacom has fallen to
