I reluctantly bought a Motorola Razr XT910 cellfone last year because it was the only decent looking upgrade at the time on my contract with Vodacom.
I hadnt seen a Motorola cell around for years and decided to give them a go as their older fones always got good reports.
Besides the usual gripes about battery time and heating up, i found hairline cracks apperaing on the screen.
When i took it to Vodacare, they stated bluntly that cracked screens are not under warranty and I would be charged.
as it was still working fine, i left it.
recently.. after extensive gps use and game playing it got extremely hot.so I decided to just recharge it as the battery was nearly flat.
A while later when I checked up on it.. it wouldnt show anything on the screen and noticed the screen shattered.
When I returned it to Vodacare, they again said that cracked screens are not under warranty and would send it off to Motorola to assess, as I stated that i had been using it for months with a cracked screen and it now doesnt work after overheating extensively
I have been quoted an absurd R3873 to replace the screen
I have found numerous complaints on the net staing similar experiences with Razr XT910 screen
