Faulty 3G modem - Cell C not the consumer champion

I decided to purchase a prepaid data offer through CellC which was 2 gigs a month for a year. This included the 3G Modem. When i tried to use the modem after 2 minutes it would disconnect from the internet. This was in my macbook as well as my 3G wireless router. I called the contact centre and each time was told that it was due to the network issues that CellC where experiencing. After numerous calls to the contact centre, I was advised to go to a cell C store. I went to the cell C store in Clearwater only to be told that their technical person wasnt in that day. I then had to go to the Cell C store in Sandton City and after standing in a 10 minute queue to be served, someone managed to look at it. After examining it, he proceeded to say that the modem was faulty and that it needed to be booked in for a repair. I asked what I should do in the interim and he said they had no loan devices. I asked what the process was to get a new device or my money back, but as the 7 day period has passed I couldnt get a new device or my money back. If the call centre had told me initially when I called in, I would have made the 7 day cut off, now I am R2000 out of pocket for something I cant use.
