MTN: False Claims & Charging whatever they want

Telecommunications

Hi,
I upgraded to a Samsung Galaxy S4 almost two weeks ago on the new MTN Anytime 200 at the MTN store in the Garden Route Mall in George. I was told that it will be an "open contract" to which I agreed.
After receiving my phone, I wanted to check my 'balance', but then found that the usual *141# doesn't work as I am now on an "open contract".
I then went to my local MTN store in Oudtshoorn to ask them how to check my Airtime, SMS, Data Bundle and MTN-to-MTN calls. To my shock, they just said I must phone Customer Care to get my Balance... I mean... really? So I must phone Customer Service on 808 everytime I want to check my balance?

So I then phoned them and got my Balance - which clearly wasn't right. I then got through to a Consultant who said that he cannot give me my balance due to a system error. He then told me that even if he could give me my 'balance', it will (and I quote) "not be RELIABLE"... I was SHOCKED! I then spoke to another Consultant moments later who also said there is no "accurate way" to check my balance. On MTN Active (when I login), I also see My Unbilled amount is way more than my contract says & I'm paying for SMS and Calls (although I have airtime).
