My 3G contract had expired and I went into the MTN store in Killarney to "upgrade" the contract. I was informed that if I stayed on the same contract (a data contract) I would not lose any of the data that I carried over - this was about 2GB's of data. I also requested that I my account gets debited on the 2th of a month, not the last day of the month. Everything seemed fine. On the 3rd of January I tried to use my 3G card, and I couldn't. I called the cost centre and I was told that I had already used all the data allocated for that month. I queried about the "carried over" data and was told that I had lost it when I upgraded. I had to purchase an adittional amout of data so that my 3G card could work again. Neither the call centr agent or the sales person at the store could explain what has happened. All I know is that I feel that I have been ripped off by MTN. I would rather close my account and take my business elsewhere and start fresh than carry on with this disgustin service from MTN. I have 3 accounts with MTN and I have never had any joy with anyone when dealing with any query. Its disgusting that loyal clients are treated like this!!!
