Wait 5 months for a landline, get poor exchange

I really am at my wits end with Telkom. I finally managed to get a landline last week after numerous calls and follow ups and excuses from Telkom for 5 months.

Luckily that has been dealt with and I requested a 2MB ADSL line for my house. After receiving my line, I joined up with MWEB who were the first to inform me that I do not have a 2MB ADSL line but a 1MB. Imagine my irritation and rage at this point that Telkom could not inform me of this.

I called Telkom who confirmed that my exchange currently only supports a 1MB line. An exchange in a BRAND NEW SUBURB WITH NEW INFRASTRUCTURE!!! I did not request 1MB, but I am forced to stick with it until an upgrade is performed.
What also grinds me is the fact that I had to speak to their accounts department to ensure that I do not get charged for a 2MB line.

Honestly, how does a company like this operate? I want to know WHEN WILL THE EXCHANGE BE UPGRADED? What are we living in, the 4th world?
