TELKOM TRIES TO CHARGE 30 DAYS CANCELLATION NOTICE WHILE FAILS TO SUPPLY SERVICE.
I have cancelled my Telkom line on 30 April (ref: TOC359440166) because the line was faulty (ADSL & voice) and Telkom failed to repair for weeks and after about 15 notices.
I was told by a very rude agent that I will be charged for additional 30 days notice period.
This is illegal - in terms of the Consumer Protection Act the consumer has to agree in advance when signing the contract to a cancellation notice period. I have never agreed.
A few days earlier I ordered another line I was told that there is no cancellation notice. The new line could not be installed because the cable is faulty.
Telkom failed to provide a service, I reported at least 15 times, nothing was done except for false sms's claiming that service was restored, no technician ever visited - they have no right to demand payment for a faulty line and need to refund me for the time that the line was not functional.
I WILL NOT BE HARASSED BY TELKOM WITH ILLEGAL DEMANDS AND INSIST ON GETTING A REFUND FOR THE PERIOD THAT THE LINE WAS FAULTY. THIS MATTER WILL BE REFERRED TO THE CONSUMER COMMISSION.
